I am an East Bay fiber artist and painter originally from Atlanta, GA. The name "Cammiko" is a blend of my first middle and last name smashed together to create a new alias.
My works cover a vast array of subjects and mediums as I love to explore multiples ways of expression. The one unifying theme of my work is my use of bright colors and neon to bring about a sense of joy to the viewer. I am obsessed with neons and the brightest color pallets possible. My love of surrealism guides my process whether the subject be abstract or literal. My favorite artists are Henri Matisse, Frida Kahlo, Christian Rex van Minnen and Hieronymus Bosch
. My current works focus on themes of translucency and light interactions. My first three portraits of "clear women" are the beginning of my series explore this theme.
